Japanese knotweed

Japanese Knotweed (Reynoutria japonica) is a weed that causes serious damage to natural and built environments due to its ability to spread easily. By looking at the weed as a recourse instead of a pest, Marina Belintani created a series of raw materials from using the various parts of the plant such as natural dyes, coatings for glass, bio-plastic, paper and fibres for products.

Use: Packaging, insulation, clothing and pigment extract.
